2007 ਵਿਚ, Amazon.com ਨੇ ਮਾਰਕੀਟ ਵਿਚ ਕ੍ਰਾਂਤੀ ਲਿਆ ਦਿੱਤੀ। Kindle ਈ-ਕਿਤਾਬਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਡਾਊਨਲੋਡ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਮੁਫ਼ਤ ਸੈਲੂਲਰ ਪਹੁੰਚ ਵਾਲਾ ਪਹਿਲਾ ਈ-ਰੀਡਰ ਸੀ। 2010, ਵਿਚ ਐਪਲ ਨੇ ਆਈਪੈਡ ਟੈਬਲੈੱਟ ਪੇਸ਼ ਕੀਤਾ, ਜਿਸ ਵਿਚ ਡਾਊਨਲੋਡ ਕਰਨ ਯੋਗ "iBooks" ਦੀ ਵਿਸ਼ੇਸ਼ਤਾ ਹੈ।
