"ਗੂਗਲ" ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਡਾ ਵੈੱਬ ਖੋਜ ਇੰਜਣ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਤਕਨੀਕੀ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਪ੍ਰਭਾਵਸ਼ਾਲੀ ਕੰਪਨੀਆਂ ਵਿੱਚੋ ਇੱਕ ਹੈ। Google ਵਿੱਚ ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਵਿਸ਼ੇਸ ਵਿਸ਼ੇਸ਼ਤਾਵਾਂ ਹਨ ਜੋ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਉਹੀ ਲੱਭਣ ਵਿਚ ਮਦਦ ਕਰਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ ਜੋ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਲੱਭ ਰਹੇ ਹੋ।
ਗੂਗਲ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਗੂਗੋਲ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਤੋਂ ਆਇਆ ਹੈ, ਜੋ ਸੌ ਜ਼ੀਰੋ ਦੇ ਬਾਅਦ ਨੰਬਰ ਇਕ ਹੈ। ਸਿਰਜਣਹਾਰਾਂ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਉਸ ਵੱਡੀ ਮਾਤਰਾ ਵਿਚ ਡੇਟਾ ਨੂੰ ਦਰਸਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਚੁਣਿਆ ਜੋ ਉਹ ਖੋਜ ਰਹੇ ਸਨ।
ਗੂਗਲ ਦੀ ਸ਼ੁਰੂਆਤ ਕਾਲਜ ਦੇ ਦੋ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਲੈਰੀ ਪੇਜ ਅਤੇ ਸਰਗੇਈ ਬ੍ਰਿਨ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ ਸੀ। ਉਹ ਇਕ ਵੈਬਸਾਈਟ ਬਣਾਉਣਾ ਚਾਹੁੰਦੇ ਸਨ ਜੋ ਪੰਨਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਰੈਂਕ ਦੇਵੇਗੀ ਇਸ ਅਧਾਰ ਤੇ ਕਿ ਕਿੰਨੇ ਹੋਰ ਪੰਨੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਜੁੜੇ ਹੋਏ ਹਨ - ਥੋੜਾ ਜਿਹਾ ਵੈੱਬ ਵਾਂਗ।

ਗੂਗਲ ਨੇ ਪਹਿਲੀ ਵਾਰ 2004 ਵਿੱਚ ਅਪ੍ਰੈਲ ਫੂਲ ਡੇ ਤੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਈ-ਮੇਲ ਸੇਵਾ, ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਜੀ-ਮੇਲ ਵਜੋਂ ਜਾਣਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਦੀ ਘੋਸ਼ਣਾ ਕੀਤੀ। ਨਤੀਜੇ ਵਜੋਂ , ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਰੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਸੋਚਿਆ ਕਿ ਇਹ ਇਕ ਮਜ਼ਾਕ ਸੀ !
